FOCUS and IMPACT clients tend to be involved in a partnership or wanting to engage scientists in another country.  The funding partner is seeking a scientific solution to a problem, whether it is public health, the environment or simply basic research for improving a product or service.  The receiving partner(s) is usually a researcher (or institute), based in another country, providing the solution in their laboratory or out in the field.  Together, this partnership depends on CRDF Solutions to take care of the often bureaucratic administration of implementing the project, grant, or even the entire program in the host country and managing the complicated financial and logistical aspects of the work.
